Young Eagles Program.
The Experimental Aircraft Association's Young Eagles Program
Was announced May 13, 1992. The mission to provide a meaningful flight experience - FREE of CHARGE - for
1 million young
people ages 8 through 17 by the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers first powered
flight (Dec. 17, 2003). EAA President, Tom Poberezny and Academy Award winning actor and Honorary
Young Chairman, pilot Cliff Robertson flew the first Young Eagles on July 31,1992. On November, 13 2003
the Young Eagle program registered the one millionth Young Eagle and the December 17, 2003 goal was met.
EAA recognizes the value to aviation of this program and will continue to support it for the forseeable
future.
